Makyla Vigil

Makyla Vigil is an Associate Attorney with San Diego Elder Law Center. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the Metropolitan State University of Denver.  She attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law (TJSL), where she graduated cum laude and received her Juris Doctorate Degree.

While in law school, Makyla worked in TJSL’s Small Business Law Center, where she counseled small businesses and non-profits. She also served as a member and editor of TJSL’s Law Review, where she wrote a law review note on Section 14(e) of the Securities and Exchange Act.

In 2023, the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce recognized Makyla with the 40 Under 40 award and Young Professionals Committee Member of the Year.

Makyla is passionate about helping families, especially those with special needs children. She channels this passion by assisting clients with Medi-Cal and public benefits planning, asset preservation, conservatorships, guardianships, trust & estate planning, special needs trusts, probate administration, and trust administration.

Makyla volunteers with San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Program in their Pro-Bono Estate Planning program and University of San Diego School of Law Name Change Clinic.

In her personal time, Makyla enjoys puzzles, reading a good book, taking her dogs to the dog park, and going to the beach.
